ZAGREB/BUENOS AIRES, May 11 (Hina) - Argentinean President Carlos
Menem might sign Dinko Sakic's extradition decree on Tuesday or
Wednesday, Argentinean Foreign Ministry spokesman, Jorge
Raventos, told Hina on Monday.
Menem's signature is a condition required by the Argentinean
Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice to finalise the legal
part of Sakic's extradition proceedings.
According to Raventos, the legal part of the proceedings has not yet
been formally finalised due to "technical problems" with the
contents of the extradition document.
In the document's first draft, it was stated that Sakic was a
Croatian citizen, he said.
Currently, however, the Ministry of Justice is investigating
whether Sakic had been granted Argentinean citizenship upon his
arrival in Argentina in the 1950's, explained Raventos.
If this possibility is confirmed, the extradition document would
state that Sakic was an "Argentinean citizen born in Croatia",
Raventos said.
