JERUSALEM, May 11 (Hina) - The Israeli Foreign Ministry is
satisfied with Minister Granic's statement at Yad Vashem, deputy
spokesman for the Israeli Prime Minister, Effi Ben-Matityahu, said
in Jerusalem on Monday.
"We are satisfied with Minister Granic's statement in which he
condemns the Ustasha regime in Croatia during the Second World War
and apologises for the war crimes it committed," Ben-Matityahu
said.
Ben-Matityahu added that the Israeli Foreign Ministry positively
assesses the Croatian Government's stance in the case of the former
Jasenovac Concentration Camp commander Dinko Sakic.
Concerning the questions posed by the director of the Yad Vashem
Memorial Center in a letter handed to Granic, Israel hopes that a
constructive solution will be found, concluded Ben-Matityahu.
