MOSTAR, May 29 (Hina) - The exhumation and identification of three
Croats killed in the Croat-Muslim conflict in May 1993 was
completed Friday in the village of Grabovica, 20km south of the
southern Bosnian town of Mostar.
According to the Croat representative in the Croat-Muslim federal
Commission for exchanging missing persons, Jerko Radic, no trace
has been found yet of 26 Croats killed in Grabovica in September
1993.
No Croat in Grabovica survived the Croat-Muslim conflict, he said,
adding that data in "Cunning Strategy", a book by Muslim General
Sefer Halilovic, suggest the bodies of the said 26 Croats were
thrown into the Neretva river.
Radic said 33 Croats were killed at the time, but the bodies of seven
were delivered to Croat representatives in an exchange three years
ago.
Before the war, Grabovica was a village with Croat majority.
The houses in the village were burned down, while the Catholic
cemetery was destroyed, Radic said.
The recent exhumation was attended by representatives of
international organisations in Bosnia. Representatives of the war
crimes tribunal in The Hague were not present, despite having been
invited.
