MOSTAR, May 16 (Hina) - "The Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-
Herzegovina (HDZ BH) must immediately (halt) the use and abuse of
seals and memoranda of spent institutions of the Croatian Republic
of Herceg-Bosna", HDZ BH president Bozo Rajic told the party
convention in Mostar Saturday.
"(HDZ BH) must (also) step up the process of final transition of
those institutions, which in line with (the Dayton peace
agreement), are waiting to be legally defined, especially (as)
concerns public enterprise and funds", Rajic said.
He was dissatisfied with the Hague tribunal's attitude towards
Bosnian Croats and called on the tribunal to ensure equal treatment
to all, so that also those charged with crimes against Croats may be
brought to trial.
The HDZ BH president also objected to the careerism of Croat
officials in BH and announced "some HDZ BH officials" in bodies of
authority would soon be replaced. Rajic did not say which officials
he was referring to.
According to Bosnian Presidency member Kresimir Zubak, the Croat
side must show a more affirmative attitude towards the peace
agreement.
"(Bosnian Croats) mustn't alienate the world they aspire to on
account of narrow local interests", he told the convention.
Zubak believed individuals underestimated the fact that the
international community had become the chief and most powerful
political subject in BH.
Commenting on a possible revision of the Dayton peace agreement,
Zubak said the international community had invested an enormous
political effort and huge financial resources in it.
"At this moment (the international community) doesn't want to bring
into question the agreement in any of its sections, and apriori
rejects the very mention of possible revisions."
Bosnian Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic advocated a consistent
implementation of the agreement.
Many Bosnian Croats think about leaving, he said, adding the HDZ BH
has a great responsibility to create conditions for the survival of
Croats in BH.
