SARAJEVO, May 27 (Hina) - The Catholic Church in Bosnia-Herzegovina
condemned all activities which discourage the return of displaced
Croats and Bosniaks (Muslims) to BH and which incite moving to
countries across the Atlantic.
The archbishops' ordinariate Tuesday issued a statement in
Sarajevo on the occasion of reports that, in cooperation with
United Nations officials, some international humanitarian
organisations were inciting Bosnian Croat refugee families in
Croatia to move to countries across the Atlantic.
The ordinariate said the head of the Catholic Church in Bosnia,
cardinal Vinko Puljic, had repeatedly warned about "indications
for such emigration of displaced Croats from BH territory, whether
they are currently in Croatia or in European countries."
On a recent visit to the UN in New York, Puljic and the head of the
Muslim religious community in BH, Mustafa Ceric, "appealed to
representatives of those institutions not to take part in
organising such emigration of Bosniaks and Croats", said the
ordinariate.
The ordinariate expects the international community to assist in
the return of displaced persons and refugees and to protect their
national and religious identity.
