PRISTINA, Apr 23 (Hina) - The situation is deteriorating in the
Kosovo municipalities of Decani and Djakovica near the border with
Yugoslavia.
According to the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, the strongest
Kosovo Albanian party, today the Yugoslav Army continued to attack
with heavy weaponry Babaloca, an Albanian-populated village in the
Decani municipality.
The Kosovo Information Centre reported today that Albanian women
and children had left nine villages in the Decani and Djakovo
municipalities in fear of Serbian forces.
Democratic Alliance of Kosovo sources today reported that one
Kosovo Albanian man was killed in last night's clashes between the
Yugoslav Army and a group of Albanians. The clash occurred near the
village of Koshare, close to the border with Yugoslavia.
The party's presidency today appealed to international factors,
especially the United States, NATO, the Contact Group, the European
Union and the United Nations, calling attention to the dramatic
situation in the two said municipalities.
The party also demanded that international factors be more resolute
in stopping Belgrade's current militaristic actions, before the
situation in Kosovo and the region explodes.
