GENEVA, April 14 (Hina) - The letter forwarded to the UN Human
Rights Commission on Tuesday in which the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia accused Croatia of violating the human rights of all its
non-Serb population is a show of the increasing nervousness of
authorities in Belgrade and an attempt to smear Croatia's image
internationally, the Croatian Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Darko
Bekic, said on Tuesday.
Bekic is heading a Croatian delegation at this year's session of the
UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva.
He told Hina that "isolated and marginalised by the international
community because of the situation in Kosovo, the authorities in
Belgrade are displaying increasing nervousness".
"FRY wants to jeopardise Croatia's international image, using this
letter of propaganda, which conflicts with the diplomatic way of
communicating and is composed in the language of Belgrade's
domestic political scene, and also wishes to take advantage of the
'Sakic case'", Bekic said.
