PRISTINA, March 24 (Hina) - The Democratic Alliance of Kosovo is the
winner of last Sunday's election in Kosovo, announced the central
election commission on Tuesday night.
Ibrahim Rugova, the only presidential candidate at the
parliamentary and presidential elections organised by Kosovo
Albanians, which have been declared illegal by the Serbs, won more
than 50 per cent of the vote. Rugova announced an early
establishment of a Kosovo parliament and government.
Other than for Rugova's Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, which
confirmed its leadership among Albanian parties in Kosovo by
gaining more than four-fifths of the vote, ballots were also cast
for the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Civic Alliance of Kosovo,
the Liberal Party of Kosovo and the Kosovo Party of Democratic
Action.
