MOSTAR, March 19 (Hina) - Organisation for Security and Cooperation
in Europe (OSCE) mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina head and
Provisional Election Commission (PEC) chairman Robert Barry on
Thursday announced the commission had started drafting rules and
regulations for September's elections.
On Thursday Barry chaired a three-hour meeting of the Consultative
Council comprising representatives of 33 political parties from
the whole of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He said political parties and candidates whose programs did not
address return of refugees, economic development and the building
of a multi-ethnic Bosnia-Herzegovina would be unable to register
for this year's elections.
Barry also said he did not believe that the 55 member-countries of
the OSCE would give cash donations to political parties for this
year's pre-election promotions.
He said the OSCE would offer to assist political parties in
promotion of their programmes and by helping them access the
media.
In relation to this, Barry announced a "general agreement" had been
reached which guaranteed all political parties and candidates
equal access to the media, especially to radio and television.
