PRISTINA, March 14 (Hina) - The Kosovo Committee for the Protection
of Human Rights and Freedoms on Saturday reported that freedom of
movement is still not allowed on the territory of Drenica, where 90
Albanians were killed in the last two weeks and the area is still
under police siege.
The Committee reports that police and military forces are still
moving about the territory, and occasionally shots from automatic
weapons are heard.
According to incomplete data almost 24,000 Albanians have fled the
Drenica territory said the Committee.
Because of the tense situation in Drenica the Election Commission
has decided not to organise presidential and parliamentary
elections in the Drenica municipality villages of Prekaze, Lausha,
Vojnik and Acarevo as well as some villages in the Srbica
municipality, which are to be held in Kosovo on 22 March.
