LOVAS, March 21 (Hina) - The remains of 67 persons, victims of Serb
aggression, killed in 1991 and 1993 in Lovas, Vukovar-Srijem
County, were buried at a local cemetery on Saturday.
Most of the victims were killed between 10 and 18 October 1991 and
three women were killed in January 1993.
The funeral was attended by numerous Lovas residents, local
municipal officials, county officials and Interior Ministry and
Parliament representatives.
A mass was conducted by retired Djakovo-Srijem bishop Msgr. Ciril
Kos, Lovas parish priest Rev. Vladimir Delic and Djakovo-Srijem
bishop Msgr. Marin Srakic.
The remains of victims buried today were exhumed from a mass grave
in Lovas in June 1997.
Nine victims were exhumed from individual graves in Lovas, and one
victim was exhumed in Tovarnik in August 1997.
Eighty-one residents of Lovas were killed or executed during the
Serb aggression, and six are registered missing.
