SERB POLICE KILL 28 ALBANIANS - KOSOVO DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE

( Editorial: --> 6892 ) PRISTINA, Mar 3 (Hina) - Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova Tuesday accused Serb authorities of preventing citizens, representatives of political parties and many reporters from taking part in the burial of a dozen Albanians killed near Drenica last weekend in a Serb police action. Rugova called on the international community, especially the United States and the European Union, to intervene in order to prevent further violence. The presidency of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, the strongest Kosovo Albanian party, today said that the Serb police last weekend killed 28 Kosovo Albanians. All were killed in front of their homes or after being taken away, the party said. The Kosovo coordinating committee of Albanian political parties assessed the situation in Kosovo as very difficult and accused Serb authorities. (hina) ha jn 031854 MET mar 98
