ZAGREB, Dec 21 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Tuesday passed a decision on calling presidential elections for 24 January 2000 at a closed session chaired by Premier Zlatko Matesa. The decision will come into force on December 25,

On December 25, deadlines from the Law on the Election of the
President of the Republic of Croatia will come into force, which
means that within the next 12 days the National Electoral
Commission will receive proposals for presidential candidates.
