its regular session held in the southern city of Mostar, the HDZ Presidency supported all laws and decisions of the High Representative based on the Constitutional solutions, particularly acts referring to the return of abandoned property in the ownership of citizens and institutions. MOSTAR, Dec 18 (Hina) - The Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina's
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) on Friday considered several
decisions, decrees and acts made by the international community's
High Representative to Bosnia.
During its regular session held in the southern city of Mostar, the
HDZ Presidency supported all laws and decisions of the High
Representative based on the Constitutional solutions,
particularly acts referring to the return of abandoned property in
the ownership of citizens and institutions.
The Bosnian HDZ leadership insisted on the consistent
implementation of those acts throughout Bosnia, and assessed that
they complied with Bosnia-Herzegovina's Constitution and Annex 7
of the Dayton peace accords, read a statement released by this
Bosnian Croat political party's information office.
The HDZ leadership in Bosnia, however, viewed the High
Representative's decisions on the city of Mostar and Herzegovina-
Neretva Canton as being contrary to the Constitution of this canton
in the Bosnian Moslem-Croat Federation as well as in contrary to the
statute of Mostar. Therefore, they were unacceptable for this
party.
The HDZ assessed that amendments to the Law on the Supreme Court,
the Law on Bosnian Federal Prosecution and the decree on joint signs
and public insignia did not comply with the Constitutions of
cantons and the Constitution of the Federation.
HDZ leaders also criticised the recent decision of the
international factors to dismiss a few Croatian officials from
their posts in bodies of authority. The decision on their
replacement was described by the HDZ leadership as an undemocratic
and unconstitutional act, while explanations given about their
dismissal were for the HDZ Presidency vague, groundless and not
transparent.
Offering the full support to the Croats who are in authorities, the
HDZ Presidency voiced readiness to discuss possible errors and
failures made by any HDZ officials at all levels of Bosnia's
authorities. The HDZ leadership, however, is not willing to carry
out decisions which are not corroborated by clear arguments and
strong evidence.
According to the statement, the HDZ Presidency described a draft of
the permanent electoral law as unacceptable.
