HDZ HOLDS CENTRAL ELECTION RALLY FOR DUBROVNIK COUNTY

SOLIN, Dec 20 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) on Sunday held its central election rally for Dubrovnik County in Solin. Reconstruction, Immigration and Development Minister Jure Radic, who heads HDZ's list of candidates in Dubrovnik County, said the party was entering the elections alone against all, however, with trust in the Croat people. Radic criticised the Opposition for entering "all kinds of coalitions." "Unlike Racan, we are not ashamed of the past. They are for changes, we are for continuity, they seek advice abroad, we ask only the Croat people. Unlike them, we recognise our mistakes, and none of them was a strategic one." Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader reminded that 14,000 people had given their lives for Croatia, that Croatia was still searching for 2,000 people, and that the war left many invalids. "For all those who built their lives into Croatia's foundations, the HDZ, which has fulfilled all great promises given so far, must fulfil the remaining ones in peace. Under the leadership of Dr. Tudjman, the HDZ led Croatia into the United Nations and many international organisations and will lead it into the European Union and NATO as well", Sanader said.
