SERB INDEPENDENT DEMOCRATIC PARTY HOLDS REGULAR SECOND ASSEMBLY

ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - The Serb Independent Democratic Party (SDSS) on Friday held its second regular assembly at which it unanimously adopted the list of SDSS candidates for the fourth, fifth, sixth, and ninth electoral unit, at which the party will run independently at impending parliamentary elections. SDSS official Vojislav Stanimirovic in his address expressed hope the party would be joined by citizens of other nationalities, and not only Serbs. The "SDSS has the power to transform from a national into a citizens' party," he asserted. Milorad Pupovac, another high-ranking SDSS official, called on the international community to assist in the reconstruction of war- ravaged areas because, he said, there would be no Serb returns without reconstruction. Attending today's SDSS assembly as guests were representatives of the Serb National Council, the association of Serb-majority municipalities in eastern Croatia, the "Prosvjeta" cultural association, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Liberal Party, the Socialist Workers' Party, and ambassadors from the United States, Slovakia, the Ukraine, Germany, and Yugoslavia.
