ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Penic has reached a decision on the establishment of an operative police action "Elections". The goal of the action is to ensure a peaceful and secure election campaign and the
elections themselves, Zagreb police spokesman Josip Begovic told reporters Tuesday. Penic forwarded a letter to all party leaders in which he recalled provisions of the Law on Public Gathering, according to which every public rally must be reported at least 48 hours prior to its holding. As part of the "Elections" action, "police will do everything for the campaign and the elections to pass in the best way possible, and we will try to prevent the destruction of advertising material of political rivals," Penic stressed.
