RIJEKA RIJEKA, Dec 17 (Hina) - The Social Democratic Party-Croatian Social Liberal Party-Primorsko-Goranski Alliance (SDP-HSLS-PGS) coalition held an election rally in Rijeka on Thursday. Speaking at the rally in the 8th constituency
were SDP and HSLS presidents, Ivica Racan and Drazen Budisa respectively. "The SDP-HSLS-PGS coalition promises Croatian citizens before the election that, should it come to power, it will enable the normalisation of life in the country, strive toward the development of economy and the creation of new jobs, as well as that the highest state officials will share the fate of the ordinary people." He added, "Croatia has to speed up the process of establishing a true democracy as well as the process of its admission into the democratic union of European states and peoples. HSLS president Budisa said that should it win the elections, the
coalition would take on the task of revising the process of
privatisation and cutting down public spending, as well as start
fighting crime and corruption.
PGS president Luciano Susanj supported the "all-out centralisation
of authority on all levels."
