ZAGREB, Dec 17 (Hina) - As part of the "Elections" police action which was initiated to ensure a peaceful and safe electoral campaign and the elections themselves, Interior Minister Ivan Penic offered police protection to presidents
of parties which were represented at the Croatian National Parliament, Deputy Interior Minister Josko Moric told reporters Friday. He said upon reaching the decision on the action Penic had sent letters to all parties informing them of police activities relating to the "Elections" action. He sent special letters to the leaders of "larger parties", offering them police protection, although there was "no information which would indicate their private persons would be endangered", Moric said. President of the Social Liberal Party (SDP) Ivica Racan has so far accepted police protection, while other party leaders are still to respond.(hina) lml mm
