SISAK, Dec 7 (Hina) - The police station in Gvozd (some 50 kilometres south of Zagreb) preferred charges against three Serb rebels on suspicion that they committed a war crime between 26 August and 3 September 1991 to the detriment of

All three suspects are currently not available to Croatian judicial bodies as they are outside Croatia, Sisak-Moslavina County police reported at Tuesday's news conference. The charges were pressed after a police procedure and processing of the documents of the so-called "Milicija SAO Krajina". SISAK, Dec 7 (Hina) - The police station in Gvozd (some 50
kilometres south of Zagreb) preferred charges against three Serb
rebels on suspicion that they committed a war crime between 26
August and 3 September 1991 to the detriment of a Croatian reserve
policeman.
All three suspects are currently not available to Croatian judicial
bodies as they are outside Croatia, Sisak-Moslavina County police
reported at Tuesday's news conference.
The charges were pressed after a police procedure and processing of
the documents of the so-called "Milicija SAO Krajina". These
documents, found after the 1995 liberating operation "Storm",
showed that two Serb insurgents had instigated the third one to kill
the reserve policeman, who was captured and imprisoned in the then
Vrginmost (nowadays Gvozd).
It has also been established that on September 1, 1991, one of those
three rebels opened fire from an automatic rifle through a prison
window at the Croatian policeman and wounded him gravely to his
right upper leg. The captured Croatian defender died of injuries,
the police added.
