During one-hour-long talks, Penic informed Pavletic of a recent
police action against the organised crime in Zagreb, when nine
persons who are believed to be members of the Zagreb underground,
were arrested.
Thanking the Interior Ministry's officials for the successfully
conducted action, Pavletic said the police showed that it had the
strength and ability to protect all citizens and to ensure the

Pavletic added that speculations about disrespect of election
results were groundless.
Pointing to the necessity that police control intensively the
situation after the action, Pavletic said the recent operation made
an important segment of the organised crime leaderless.
Minister Penic said by this action police showed it clearly that
they were resolute to ensure that public peace and order at a high
level.
Reiterating that basic duties of police are to comply with th
Constitution and laws and protect human lives and property, Penic
said all elements of the Interior Ministry are working in an
impeccable and determined manner.
We are aware that we have not finished the fight against the
organised crime, but the remaining part is under our control, Penic
said.
