SARAJEVO, Nov 26 (Hina) - The first group of 30 members of the future unified border police of Bosnia-Herzegovina will travel to Austria this week for training so they could assume their new duties by the end of the year, UN Mission
to Bosnia-Herzegovina spokesman Douglas Coffman told reporters in Sarajevo Friday. Ten Croats, Bosniaks (Moslems) and Serbs will, with the mediation of the UN Mission, attend a three-week course at the Austrian gendarmerie academy in Graz after which they will be deployed at four border crossings in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Austrian Government had expressed readiness to train 90 border police officers. The Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina this week endorsed a draft law on state border police in line with provisions from a declaration signed in New York. The declaration also established a zone of jurisdiction of the border police of 10 kilometres into Bosnia-Herzegovina territory.(hi
