ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - The Serb National Party (SNS) has in the last two day spotted a series of irregularities regarding voters' lists and will present its objections to the State Electoral Commission and the OSCE as early as today,
SNS president Milan Djukic told reporters in Zagreb on Thursday. Djukic said his party would present its election programme and candidates on December 21. Most of the irregularities concern voters' certificates with 'unknown' nationality. Cases have been reported, Djukic claims, where a family of four receives certificates in which the nationality of only one member is named Serb while the nationality of the other three is named 'unknown'. ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - The Serb National Party (SNS) has in the last
two day spotted a series of irregularities regarding voters' lists
and will present its objections to the State Electoral Commission
and the OSCE as early as today, SNS president Milan Djukic told
reporters in Zagreb on Thursday.
Djukic said his party would present its election programme and
candidates on December 21.
Most of the irregularities concern voters' certificates with
'unknown' nationality. Cases have been reported, Djukic claims,
where a family of four receives certificates in which the
nationality of only one member is named Serb while the nationality
of the other three is named 'unknown'.
"The Serbs have gone through a difficult process of acquiring the
right to citizenship for their nationality to be unknown", Djukic
said, adding he believed the irregularities were intentional.
Other irregularities concern mostly the unresolved problem of
transport, mostly of elderly people, to the polling stations and
the "erasing of names from voters' lists".
The SNS president also spoke about the status of Croatian Serbs in,
as he said, "the post-Tudjman era", assessing that "it is becoming
increasingly clear that Croatia today is almost not accepted by the
world, including the majority of its own citizens".
"The post-Tudjman Croatia has been given a chance for democratic
forces to start creating its political scene," he said.
"The Serbs have a reason for fear because a part of Croats still
don't want their return to Croatia", Djukic said, adding the Serb
people has a reason to believe the majority of voters would give
their support to democratic forces and recognise the need to solve
the status of Croatian Serbs.
