The bearer of coalition lists in seven electoral units is SDP president Racan, while HSLS president Budisa will be list bearer in the second, fourth, and tenth unit, as well as in the separate unit for the Diaspora. The latter's list is as yet incomplete, but it is known non-party candidate Boris Maruna will the first candidate on the list. Commenting yesterday's government decision that political parties for security reasons would not be submitted with floppy disks with integral lists of voters, Budisa and Racan told a joint press conference that explanation was "entirely unacceptable and scandalous." Racan said that decision increased the oppositon's suspicion of possible irregularities during elections. The SDP and the HSLS today presented a coalition electoral declaration called New Direction, in which they reiterate their determination to revise financial restructuring and privatisation. Budisa welcomed yesterday's Constitutional Court decision which says that Croatian parliamentary parties do not have to be registered abroad to be able to propose candidates for voters' committees.
