ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina) - Croatia's Interior Minister Ivan Penic on Friday handed over to the Croatian Rail (HZ) Director-General, Dragutin Subat, a document confirming that the Sunja-Novska railway line (70 kilometres south-east of
Zagreb) has been cleared of mines. The project of de-mining, worth about four million German marks, was financed by a loan of the World Bank. Mines were removed from a total of 1.39 square kilometres. Penic said the mine clearance is one of key issues which the Interior Ministry should solve. Special policemen cleansed a third of mined areas in the country. He announced a more intensive process of de-mining for next year. HZ Director-General Subat said the entire network of Croatia's railway roads was cleansed of mines by the completion of that job at the "Sunja-Novska" railway line which will be included into traffic next week.(hina) mm ms
