CROATIAN DELEGATION ATTENDS WTO CONFERENCE

ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Croatian Economy Minister Nenad Porges who is heading a Croatian delegation at the World Trade Organisation Ministerial Conference in Seattle, on Tuesday held talks with Italian Foreign Trade Minister Pier Fassino, the Croatian Economy Ministry said in a statement Wednesday. Porges informed Fassino with the blockage of Croatia's access into the WTO which occurred due to a dispute between the United States and France regarding audio and visual services. Fassino expressed Italy's full support to Croatia's access into the WTO, as well as readiness to initiate the question of solving the problem at various levels of EU representatives. Fassino also expressed interest in President Tudjman's health condition and the political situation in the country. The two ministers expressed mutual satisfaction with the level of good political and economic relations between Italy and Croatia. Members of the Croatian delegation are to hold talks on Wednesday with several WTO officials, while Minister Porges will meet his Hungarian counterpart Atilla Chikano, the Economy Ministry said.
