GOSPIC, Nov 21 (Hina) - Since 01.00 pm Sunday the road between the central Croatian town of Gospic and Karlobag, which lies on the Adriatic coast, has been closed for all traffic, due to a snowy avalanche in the area of Takalica and
due to icy rain on southern slopes of Mountain Velebit. The height of snow in Gospic is already over 50 centimetres. Snow has covered local and county roads in central Croatia. Lika-Senj County police reported no road accident but requested drivers to be very careful or to postpone trips over these areas. Busses which had to pass through Lika were late for several hours at their destinations. A few bus services were also cancelled. Snowstorms have from time to time obstructed traffic at some parts of Istria and Primorje-Gorski Kotar Counties. Arrivals of planes from other European cities to Zagreb delayed for
one hour, said an official of the Zagreb Airport adding that the
whole of Europe was facing winter problems in traffic.
International trains arrived in Zagreb being late about five
minutes, while the biggest trouble occurred in commuter services
where trains were late up to half an hour.
