CROATIAN OPPOSITION LEADERS MEET SLOVENE PRESIDENT

LJUBLJANA, Nov 29 (Hina) - Senior officials of two Croatian opposition parties, Zdravko Tomac of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Stipe Mesic of the Croatian People's Party (HNS) met Slovene President Milan Kucan in Ljubljana on Monday. In an interview for Slovene television tonight, Tomac said he had suggested that Kucan hold an official meeting with SDP president Ivica Racan and Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) president Drazen Budisa, which Kucan accepted gladly. According to Tomac, the meeting would tackle Slovene-Croatian relations, the future of the two countries, their integration into European associations and their mutual help in that regard. Assessing the current political situation in Croatia, Tomac said he believed the 'Opposition Six' would win both the parliamentary and presidential elections.
