SARAJEVO/MOSTAR, Nov 15 (Hina) - The Mostar-based "Erotel"
television is not allowed to broadcast its programme any longer,
this Bosnian Croat biggest TV house said in its flagship news
programme on Monday evening.
The decision on the ban on the Erotel's work was made by the
Independent Media Commission (IMC) in Bosnia-Herzegovina after
this TV house declined to accept a temporary licence for its work,
offered by the IMC.
The licence, issued by the Commission, allows Erotel to air its
programmes via 11 transmitters out of 46 which this TV house is
using now.
The explanation given by the Commission for such decision is that
the Mostar-based TV house had broadcast its programmes via 11
transmitters prior to the proclamation of a moratorium on new
frequencies and the intensification of signals in June 1998.
Erotel was offered to accept the temporary licence as a first stage
in the complete re-organisation of this TV house, through which
other TV and radio stations are now undergoing in Bosnia. The
Mostar, television, however, assessed it as an attempt for its
termination.
On Monday evening Erotel did not cease airing its programme,
despite the ban.
