ZAGREB, Nov 10 (Hina) - The drug abuse epidemics in Croatia has been stopped this year, and the number of new addicts will not exceed last year's, the government's Drug Abuse Prevention Commission said in a statement on Wednesday. The
addiction growth trend has been stopped despite difficulties in the implementation of a national drug abuse prevention programme, says the statement released after a Commission meeting with the heads of county bodies in charge of programme implementation. They pointed out it was difficult to expect better results without political or material support from the government and its institutions in programme implementation. The Commission said the biggest burden in the implementation lay on treatment centres which are curing 4,500 addicts.(hina) ha jn
