BISKUPIC HOLDS TALKS WITH CHINESE CULTURE MINISTRY REPS ON COOPERATION

ZAGREB, Oct 12 (Hina) - Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic on Tuesday received a delegation of the Chinese Culture Minister, headed by special assistant of the Chinese Culture Minister Zhang Hualin. The talks in Zagreb were on cultural exchange included in an agreement on cultural cooperation until the end of the year 2000. After the talks, Zhang Hualin said he was satisfied by cultural cooperation between the two countries so far. He expressed his gratitude to the Croatian Culture Ministry for its contribution to the implementation of programmes included in the agreement. Biskupic stressed that both sides were satisfied with the cooperation so far, adding that economic cooperation must be strengthen as well. In line with the agreement, an exhibition called thousand years of Croatian Sculpture will be opened in Beijing and Cian, Biskupic said. By the end of 1999, and exhibition of Chinese photography will be held in Zagreb, followed by the week of Croatian film to be held in China and the week of Chinese film in Croatia. The Skolska Knjiga publisher is to issue Croatian-Chinese and Chinese-Croatian dictionary. The Peking Opera will perform in the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb on Wednesday. (hina) it
