ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - Prompted by the broadcast of television archive material in Wednesday's late news broadcast "Motrista", Smiljko Sokol on Thursday said that upon his election as a Constitutional Court judge he left the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) and has not attended sessions of any party body nor has he attended any political meeting. "Since I have appeared in archive material shown in Croatian Radio Television broadcast "Motrista" of November 3, 1999 in a contribution on a session of the HDZ election headquarters' Committee for Strategy, and since the archive material was not described as such, I state that since October 22, 1999, when I was elected a Constitutional Court judge and left the HDZ, I have not attended a session of any party body nor have I attended any public political meeting. Neither do I intend to do it in the future", Sokol said in a statement sent to Hina.(hina) jn rml
