POSITION OF SERBS IN CROATIA IMPROVES - PUPOVAC

BELGRADE, Oct 26 (Hina) - The president of the Serb Democratic Forum and a representative at the Croatian National Sabor, Milorad Pupovac, on Tuesday told Belgrade daily "Danas" that the situation of Serbs in Croatia, regarding their safety, tolerance towards returnees and their religious and national identity, had improved. About 250,000 Serbs are currently living in Croatia, and the number of Serbs with the Croatian citizen status amounts to 350,000, including those with Croatian documents living in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republika Srpska, Popovac told the daily. According to him, the results are not spectacular, but 65,000 Serbs have already returned to Croatia.
