HDZ NATIONAL COUNCIL DISCUSSES ORGANISATION OF ELECTION HQ

ZAGREB, Sept 10 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) National Council on Friday held a session at which it discussed the organisation and composition of HDZ's Main Election Headquarters and preparations for the elections. The session was chaired by HDZ president Franjo Tudjman, said a statement from the party's main secretariat. The Council was unanimous that the Main Election Headquarters should be made of members of the National Council, who will be assisted by representatives from county committees and a certain number of distinguished party members. The Main Election Headquarters will be headed by the party president Franjo Tudjman. The Main Election Headquarters will also include an honorary election headquarters. The session refuted speculation about the alleged rifts in the HDZ leadership. Quite the contrary, once again the party has demonstrated unity and determination to prove in the upcoming elections that it is a popular Croatian party and the most reliable guarantor in the protection of Croatia's freedom and independence and the establishment of Croatia as a country of democracy, welfare, solidarity, and social justice, the statement said.
