legislation.#L#
The coalition will submit its demands as an amendment during
parliamentary discussion on new electoral legislature due for
discussion in the Croatian National Sabor.
The coalition holds that even though women make up 51 per cent of
Croatia's population they are in fact a political minority who do
not have access to making decisions at any level in state
administration.
This is evident with the 7.8 per cent representation of women in the
Lower House of the Sabor. In the Upper House where there are 68 MP's,
there are only four women.
"Our coalition wishes to influence women to participate in the
coming elections and to carefully study party platforms and then to
choose the party they believe will support women's interests", said
one of the coordinators of the coalition Bojana Genov.
Coalition representatives however, consider that the delayed
adoption of election laws will render them as unfair.
