The skeleton, discovered on private premises in a residential area,
is the skeleton of a man older than 30 years. That man was tall about
167 centimetres, said experts.
According to the found bronze bangle, the skeleton can be dated back
between 4th and 5th century BC, said an archaeologist, Tajma
Rismondo on Thursday.
The skeleton was found 1.4 metre underground, and the bangle with 6-
centimetre diameter, was made after the fashion spread in the
entire Roman Empire in the early Christian age.
Many similar bangles were found in Salona, the archaeological site
near Split, and therefore we can conclude that this bracelet was
locally made. The found skeleton is very likely to be the remains of
a Romanized Split citizen, Rismondo said.
According to her, only material findings discovered along with the
skeleton are parts of amphorae that used to be buried with poor
people.
