Talking to the press in Zagreb earlier this week, Jakov Radovcic,
chairman of an organising committee in charge of the event,
reminded that on August 23, 1899, Croatian natural scientist,
geologist, and palaeontologist Dragutin Gorjanovic-Kramberger
discovered numerous remains of early man at Husnjakovo, a site in
Krapina.
According to organising committee deputy chairman Nenad Jandric,
the "Neanderthals Anew" exhibition, which will open in Klovicevi
Dvori in Zagreb on Sunday, has been envisaged as a review of the
entire historical combination of findings on Neanderthals as the
pre-historical men of Europe, with accent on the Krapina findings.
Exhibits will come from a recently closed staging in Vienna.
