KRAPINA-ANIVERSARRY-Pronalasci ONE HUNDRED YEARS AFTER THE DISCOVERY OF THE KRAPINA NEANDERTHAL KRAPINA, Aug 24 (Hina) - "Krapina is one of the most significant sites for Neanderthal findings in Europe", US scientist Fred Smith said
on the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of the discovery of the Krapina Neanderthal. A ceremony was organised Monday in the Festival hall in Krapina and was attended by several local and world scientists. Any other findings in the world or sites discovered after the Krapina site disclosed only samples of bones or skull of one or several individuals. The Krapina site however, Smith stressed, has offered scientists bones and skulls of an entire tribe, some nine hundred Neanderthals. The Krapina site is interesting too because bones belonging to Neanderthal children have been discovered as well as almost all the remains of bones belonging to one man. (hina) sp
