area near Kasteli, central Croatian coastline, was extinguished. Another two fires in the wider Split area - in Zrnovnica and Seget Gornji - were brought under control, the Split fire service reported on Friday. The flames near Seget Gornji was caused by a fire which a still unknown perpetrator made in the open air on Wednesday afternoon. County police said 250 hectares of pine wood, bushes, and grass were burnt. Firemen are still controlling the fire. About 120 hectares of pinewood, vineyards, orchards and other agricultural land were burned by the fire above Kasteli. The flames was completely put out, but firefighters on duty are patrolling the area. Rains which fell in the Split area last night helped the firemen. The damage is yet to be estimated. HEA
