MOSTAR/SARAJEVO, Aug 11 (Hina) - The office of Bosnia-Herzegovina's three-man Presidency's Chairman, Ante Jelavic, on Wednesday issued a statement on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions in which this Bosnian
Croat representative expressed his confidence that "after having experienced plight, nations and all citizens of Bosnia Herzegovina have realised the huge importance of the respect for basic human rights, tolerance and understanding among people, which are also the driving force behind the Geneva Conventions as well as a guarantee for peace in the whole world." I hope that new generations in the world and Bosnia-Herzegovina will strive even harder to prevent conflicts among people and that these Conventions will serve for them as guidelines how to respond to impending challenges in the 21st century, Jelavic said in the statement.(hina) ms
