HUNGARIAN OIL COMPANY PLANS TO OPEN PETROL STATIONS IN CROATIA

ZAGREB, July 21 (Hina) - The Hungarian oil company MOL is intending to open from three to five petrol stations in Croatia by the end of 2001. The first of them is being constructed in Sesvete outside Zagreb, and should be open this October, a representative of the MOL Agram firm in Zagreb, Mladen Puljek, told Hina on Wednesday. This intention is part of the strategic plan of MOL to set up between 100 and 150 petrol stations in countries bordering with Hungary by the end of 2001. At the end of last year, MOL possessed total 413 petrol stations - 363 of them in Hungary and 50 in neighbouring states. One station with MOL sign is being run as a franchise in Osijek, eastern Croatia. In 1998, this firm, which is a leading oil company in central and eastern Europe, made a profit of 422 million German marks.(hina) ms
