PRISTINA, July 2 (Hina) - About 5,000 Kosovo Albanians on Friday celebrated the ninth anniversary of the Constitutional Declaration of Kosovo in downtown Pristina. The document, adopted by 118 Albanian and Turkish representatives at
the Kosovo Assembly in 1990, treats the southern Yugoslav province as an independent Yugoslav entity outside of Serbia. Several thousand Pristina residents marked the anniversary driving in their cars which formed a long column moving through the town centre and sounding sirens. They carried banners with NATO, KFOR and KLA written on them. The event had been approved by British KFOR soldiers. (hina) rml
