ZAGREB, May 26 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic on Wednesday expressed satisfaction with yesterday's agreement between the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the "Opposition Six" regarding the basic
principles of the new election legislation. The agreement is an important step towards fully democratic elections, Pavletic said at today's session of the Sabor's House of Representatives. Pavletic believes the agreement is also an opportunity for Opposition representatives to return to parliamentary committees thus securing normal conditions for the functioning of the parliament. The Lower House today continued its 40th session with a debate on a draft strategy of Croatia's energy development, which started last Friday. The Lower House will today discuss another 15 items, including a report on the status of the Croat minority in European countries.(hina) rml
