LOWER HOUSE ENDS WEDNESDAY'S SESSION

ZAGREB, May 26 (Hina) - The Croatian National Parliament House of representatives on Wednesday ended its session with a discussion on a report on the position of Croats as a minority in European countries. MPs mostly agreed that the position of the Croat minority in other European countries was worse than the position of minorities in Croatia. This is also the assessment of a committee for immigration which suggested to the Government that it should make a summary of everything national minorities are receiving in Croatia, so a comparison could be made with what Croats are receiving in European countries. Ivan Gabelica of the Croatian Pure Party of Rights said there were only countries in which the position of Croats are difficult or worse. The MPs also stressed the principle of reciprocity would be crucial in the solving of mutual relations when it comes to minorities with countries of the former Yugoslavia.
