SERB MINORITY MP CONDEMNS BEHAVIOUR OF VUKOVAR SERB COUNCILLORS

ZAGREB, May 4 (Hina) - The behaviour of Serb minority representatives and Serb members of the municipal authorities and the Town Council in Vukovar, who failed to pay respect to the killed Croatian soldiers at Vukovar's New Cemetery, is hypocritical, an independent Serb minority MP, Veselin Pejnovic, said on Tuesday. On the occasion of the Day of Vukovar, on May 3, representatives of local and state authorities, family members and fellow fighters gathered at the Alley of Croatian Soldiers to lay wreaths and light candles in memory of killed Vukovar soldiers. Pejnovic also protested against the "bureaucratic reconciliation" and asked where the Serb leadership from the Danube region and Vukovar were building mutual understanding and reconciliation, "if they do not have understanding for souls which had to leave the destroyed town in which they (Serb leadership) live today". This is shameful behaviour of Croatian citizens and Serbs living in the Danube region, Pejnovic said. (hina) jn rml
