ZAGREB, May 27 (Hina) - The Croatian People's Party (HNS) cannot accept the agreement between the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the "Opposition Six" regarding a new election law, HNS vice- president Stipe Mesic told a press
conference in Zagreb on Thursday. The agreement, which envisages a separate electoral unit for the Diaspora and enables Croats from Bosnia-Herzegovina to vote in the elections in Croatia, is not acceptable for the HNS, Mesic said. The participation of Bosnian Croats in the elections in Croatia is contrary to the Dayton agreement because Bosnian Croats are not the Croatian Diaspora but a constituent people in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mesic said. According to the HNS vice-president, there was no guarantee that the HDZ would not have as many Diaspora voters as necessary for winning the elections.(hina) rml
