ZAGREB, May 14 (Hina) - "Croatian athletes won 870 medals at big international contests from 1992 to 1998, 50 per cent of which belong to juniors and cadets, which proves that Croatian sport has a future," president of the Croatian
Olympic committee (HOO) and member of the International Olympic Committee, Antun Vrdoljak, said on Friday at the opening of the First Croatian Sports Assembly. The event will last for two days. Vrdoljak said he expected the most responsible people in Croatian sports to give a vision of the development of Croatian sports in the 21st century during the assembly. Present at the opening were representatives of the Croatian National parliament, Education and Sports Minister Bozidar Pugelnik and other representatives of Croatia's public and sports life.(hina) lml jn
