delegations from 41 countries were addressed by the President of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, Lord Russell-Johnston. The delegations, including a Croatian delegation, are to discuss the Kosovo crisis, the coordination of economic growth and social protection, and the education strategy and challenges on the threshold of the year 2000. A university student from Zagreb, Vanja Vukic, has been elected to one of the three deputy chairman posts of the Assembly's session. Assembly on Friday met for a session in Strasbourg, on the occasion
of the 50th anniversary of the Council of Europe.
At the beginning of the session, youth delegations from 41
countries were addressed by the President of the Council of
