ZAGREB, April 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Post Workers' Union (HSP) on Thursday announced strikes by Croatian Post employees who work six days a week. The HSP president Jadranka Dumbovic told today's news conference that the collective
agreement for post and telecommunications envisaged a five-day working week. The HP management has failed to respect this regulation and the unions decided to go on strike. Also, the management is not respecting a provision according to which the employer should harmonise salaries with the increase of living costs, Dumbovic added. The announced strikes should be held every Saturday the whole day, starting on May 1, until an agreement with the employer is reached, Dumbovic said adding this referred especially to postmen and post office employees.(hina) rml
