ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday adopted the first report of the State Inspectorate on performed inspections of illegal employment. According to the report, in 1998, there were 5,775 cases of black labour,
of whom 1,804 were foreigners without any permits. The largest number of cases of black labour were found in the shipbuilding industry, tourism, and construction companies. The Government will not tolerate construction companies' excuses that they could not find adequate manpower, while at the same time such labour force could be found at the employment office, it was said at today's session. The Government also endorsed a customs bill, which is in its entirety in accordance with European customs standards. The Croatian Government will send US$2.4 million-worth of
humanitarian aid, consisting of food, blankets and toiletries, to
Kosovo refugees in Albania and Macedonia.
